Manny The Marlin?

So, the Boston Red Sox and Manny Ramirez are suffering many difficult problems in their marriage and I don't think counseling will help this relationship out. Personally, I don't want the Red Sox to trade Manny this season because I don't think any other player in the league can give the Sox what Manny has been giving them the past several years. I do think that he will become even more extreme in his "Manny being Manny" ... actions. I guess the Sox would be better off with him in Florida. Whatever.

So ... One Of The Boys (Pt. 2)

So that's a really cool Katy Perry picture I found on her myspace. I think it's one of the most rad pictures I've seen in a long while.

I was supposed to finish my album review for One Of The Boys but I really don't have much to say other than: THE ALBUM KICKS ASS. Buy it. Enjoy it. The End.

Oh, and I'm pretty fucking glad the Red Sox avoided getting swept by the fucking Yankees.

One Of The Boys

So I've been listening non-stop to this album - it's like the most rad album I've heard in a while. You go, Katy Perry.

Album review time? Sure.

Is it gonna be a good album review? Probably not.

Allright ...

So the album kicks off with the album's title track and instantly, you're hooked. Maybe you're a girl and can totally relate to the fact that you don't wanna be one of the boys anymore or maybe you're a guy who's best friend is a chick and you may want to see her girly side or whatever. Anyway, you're hooked. It's a catchy tune. It's a great song.

Next, you get hit with the first single I Kissed A Girl and you either start dancing or sing-along with the track. Amazing song. Even if you're totally against same-sex smooching, you're gonna think this song's catchy. Plus, it's Katy Perry singing about kissing a girl, so many people aren't gonna be against that.

Waking Up In Vegas is the next track and in some sort of weird way it reminds me of Carrie Underwood's new single Last Name. They're both about making questionable decisions while in Vegas. Who doesn't find that amusing? I know I do.

The first "ballad" of the album comes next in the form of Thinking About You. Deep. The chick is with this one guy but can't stop thinking about her ex. Who hasn't felt that way or known someone that has felt that way? Pretty much everyone.

Mannequin. What can I say about this track? "But you're not a man, you're just a mannequin." I think many females can relate to that. So many dudes think they're gonna be so cool if they don't show their girlfriends their feelings. Well, you're not. You just seem like douche bags if you don't.

The most amusing and hilarious song is UR So Gay. It starts off "I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf" and you wanna hear more. You have to. One of the best and funniest ways to start off a song. Nowadays, that song is so true. So many dudes like to wear chick pants and use guyliner and all that shit. Well, you're just gayer than Ryan Seacrest if you do that.

Fuck.

I'm tired of typing.

I might finish this tomorrow.

Maybe.

Jason Taylor #55

So, unless you've been camping under a rock, you know that the Miami Dolphins traded DE Jason Taylor to the Washington Redskins for a 2nd round draft pick in 2009 and 6th round pick in 2010. I think the Redskins may have fared a bit better than the Dolphins because Taylor is a one of the best defensive linemen in the game.

Many people know Taylor for his participation in Dancing With The Stars and really had no idea that he is a really good NFL player. He was recognized as the league's top defensive player in 2006.

I can't wait to see him in a Skins uniform when the season begins.

Guitar Hero

I think that picture pretty much sums everything up. I'm awesome at Guitar Hero - only in medium mode, though. I can own in medium. When it gets to hard/expert - I blow. Big time. I cannot get the orange notes and then that just fucks everything up. My favorite song to play is "Beast and the Harlot" by Avenged Sevenfold. That song is pretty fucking kick-ass.

I'm quite bored.

But isn't that how I always am?
I love that picture. I wish I could get a t-shirt like that.

Boringgg

So yesterday was the slowest day in sports. There was no baseball, both football and basketball seasons are in their hiatus, soccer is kinda boring (who really pays attention to soccer, anyways?). There was nothing to do last night except for popping in my O.C. season 3 DVD and watch as the Ryan/Marissa relationship, once again, goes down in flames. So, yeah it was a boring day yesterday. Whatever, I'll always have The O.C.

MLB All-Star Game

What a game last night! Definitely a pitcher's duel that started off with Cliff Lee and Ben Sheets who were ready for the game bringing their "A" pitches and making the game's best hitters look amateurishly foolish. Lee's fastball and Sheet's breaking ball made the opposing team's hitters seem like .100 hitters instead of .300 hitters and it was great to see.

In my opinion, pitcher's duels aren't the most exciting games to see unless you like lots of strikeouts. If you do, then last night was the game for you. All pitchers used (both in the AL and the NL) combined for 34 strikeouts (17 for each side).

I was getting nervous because the National League had a 2-0 lead in the 7th inning. Then, JD Drew came up to bat and hit a 2-run blast to the right field seats. The game was tied, all was well. An unlikely hero for the American League came to the plate in Evan Longoria during the 8th because the National League had taken back the lead thanks to an "overrated" (overrated, my ass, Yankees fans) Jonathan Papelbon who had a shaky inning. Longoria hit a ground-rule double down the line that helped Grady Sizemore score and tie things up once again.
And then it was on. I went to sleep after the 9th inning but I woke up quite early to watch the highlights on SportsCenter. I guess I didn't miss much because I saw ground balls and not scoring and Nate McClouth throwing out Dioner Navarro at the plate during the 11th inning and on and on and on.
Finally, during the 15th inning, the American League came to life and Michael Young hit the sacrifice fly to get Justin Morneau across the plate. There was lots of booing towards all Red Sox and Mets players because Yankees fans are just jealous. But, karma's a bitch, it just so happens that at the last All-Star Game ever played at Yankee Stadium a Red Sox player was the MVP of the game: JD Drew.

'08 Home Run Derby ... Speechless

So last night was the night the annual MLB home-run derby took place. I did not choose the two guys that made it to the championship round to do so. I actually chose Chase Utley and Lance Berkman to duke it out, and I'm an idiot for doing so. I didn't see Josh Hamilton and Justin Morneau making it to the final round because Hamilton only has 21 home runs and had been in sort of a slump lately. On the other hand, Morneau was tied with Evan Longoria for my last choice to win the derby because Morneau only has 14 home runs for the season.
I had no idea Josh Hamilton would put on a show last night. 28 home runs in the first round of the home run derby is unheard of. He hit like 12 home runs in a row with 8 outs. Absolutely mind-boggling.

Hamilton's story is a touching one, too. He was the first overall pick in the MLB Draft by the then Tampa Bay Devil Rays a couple of years ago. He made some questionable decisions with his life. He became a cocaine and heroin addict and he lost his contract with the Rays. Then, he took some time off, found religion, and now he's the RBI leader in the majors with 95.

Amazing story. Amazing show. Too bad Justin Morneau won the derby. I'm not saying that because I don't like Morneau, I'm just saying that because it would've been fitting for Hamilton to have won the derby but I guessed he tired himself out.

Sleep ... Or Lack Thereof

So I have had trouble sleeping since like December of '06. It was the last time I remember having a satisfying night of sleep. I mean, seriously that's not healthy, I don't think. It's been a year and a half or so since I slept through the night. I need help. I'm messed up in so many ways. It's insane. I'm so like sleep deprived.

Last night I went to sleep at about 4:30-4:45 a.m. and I woke up at about 6:30. That's pretty much my sleeping pattern. I may go to sleep early one day and wake up at like 2 and not be able to fall back asleep. It's quite depressing, actually.

I guess I'm like Ryan Atwood (The O.C.) when he had insomnia in the episode "The Sleeping Beauty". Too bad I don't have a Taylor Townsend to save me. I'm not saying I want a female to help me out the way Taylor helped Ryan (she showed him that he had feelings for her after a steamy kiss). I want a guy to be my Taylor Townsend. :D

I Miss Football

Ughhh ... It's only July 12th which means approximately two more months (!) until the NFL/NCAA football seasons begin. I cannot wait. As much as I love baseball and whatnot - football is so much more exciting than baseball. Mostly because there is a hint of violence there and I gotta admit I love violence.

The one thing that's gonna help me out with my football withdrawal is Madden 09 with Brett Favre on the cover. I already pre-ordered it and I cannot wait - it's gonna be amazing.

My Friend's A Whore ... Personal

So, I told my friend that today's entry was gonna be me talking about how much of a whore she is. In reality, if I was gonna talk about that, I would have nothing to talk about. She is the antithesis of a whore - the most innocent, virginal, naive thing you could meet (except, you know, she's not a "thing", she's my buddy). She's completely amazing ... I mean, she got a full ride to college, she wants to major in like 4 different fields, and she wants to save the world ... all the while being a strip-tease instructor. (I'm totally kidding about that last part. :D)

I don't know why she is my friend, though. I don't understand how she can be friends with someone like me. I bitched her out when I was in 8th grade and she was in 7th. I don't remember exactly what I said to her back then, but I know I said some mean things because I can be a bitch.

By the way, I'm the biggest idiot ever. I sent her a really stupid text which I completely regret right now even though I told her to forget about the text. I'm just completely baffled at the situation. I knew I was an idiot, I didn't know I was such an idiotic douche bag.

I mean, the text had nothing to do with her. I had gotten irritated at a situation that had occurred earlier in the day and when I get mad or irritated it kinda stays with me for a while and I take it out on other people sometimes. I know I shouldn't, but I do. I guess I said something I was thinking but never meant to expose.

Usually, what I do, is I keep things bottled up. It's not in my nature to talk about my feelings. It's what I've been doing since I was 8 when something too personal to write on my blog happened. I felt like I needed to grow up and watching what the adults in my family did I kinda learned that grown ups don't talk about their feelings.

All of that doesn't mean I don't feel anything for anyone. If I ever say "I love you" to someone I mean it. I'm a genuine person when it comes to telling people what I feel about them, I just don't talk about what's bothering me and whatnot.

Everything I've gone through has made me an incredibly angry person. I have a short fuse and I don't like being fucked with when I'm mad. If I get mad my hands start shaking and I feel the need to punch something. My heart starts racing and the only thing that satisfies me is my fist hitting something. I know I need anger management, but that's just not me. I guess I'm like the hulk or something when I get mad.
Whoa ... I never meant for this to get personal, but it did.

Ganja Girl

So I was talking on the phone with my friend last night. I don't know how we get into these tangents but we seriously have the most ... interesting ... conversations. We started talking about marijuana and then I said something about being a superhero or like Wonder Woman or something. Then, I said something about going to LA and pitching the idea to like a Hollywood producer for like a TV show or something. We were thinking about names and she came up with Weed Woman which was not subtle at all. So then, she came up with Ganja Girl, which is really just hilarious. She's such a druggie, but I still love her.

There really is nothing for me to say at the moment. I'm just relaxing right now. That's really important for me to do or else I get wired. Mmm ... although I should be checking out stuff to do in the fall. I should be going to school or something but I don't know what I'm going to end up doing.
My dream job would be to write for like ESPN or something. I would really love and enjoy to do something to do with sports. Sports are my life. I Love Tennis

I think this picture captures everything right there after Sunday's epic Gentlemen's Singles Final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. What a match! Between the rain delays and the crazy forehand winners among frustration and joy - I was speechless. The best match I have ever witnessed. I am actually completely glad that I didn't go anywhere yesterday because, had I gone out with the fam, I would've missed one of the best matches ever played.

I don't think I've ever been this happy to be wrong when it comes to sports predictions. I predicted Federer would win in five sets, but how can you go wrong when a match of that quality was witnessed? If there ever was a time when I believe the first place trophy should be split, it would be after yesterday's final because both Rafa and Roger played the match of their lives for our viewing pleasure. Wow!

Cuatro De Julio

So, it's the fourth of July. Wow. Lots of alcohol, hot dogs, watermelon, and fireworks to be used tonight. Damn, I seriously hope it doesn't rain here tonight because it looks like it's gonna. Happy July 4th to everyone except the Yankees!
The Red Sox absolutely owned the Yankees last night with a 7-0 blanking of the Evil Empire. Jon Lester was lights-out. A five-hit shutout of the Yankees is absolutely amazing! Let's keep it going, Sox!

So this is a relatively short post because I'm gonna get ready for the biggest parties tonight. Yeah. God Bless the USA.

Screw The Rays

So, the Tampa Bay Rays swept the Boston Red Sox last night at the "Trop". That pisses me off quite a bit. Now those kids have a 3.5 game lead over the Sox. How could this happen? How could those motherfuckers sweep the Sox? It's just unbelievable to me that they could do this. It's also unbelievable that the Sox lost right before a four-game series against the damn Yankees. How could they let this happen?
Now I'm angry. They better at least split the series because if the Yanks take more than two at the Bronx I'm seriously going to flip out on someone. And I'm not joking around. I will flip my shit. I hate the Yanks so much.

On another note, there is a rain-delay at the moment at Wimbledon. Venus Williams already punched her ticket to the final after defeating Elena Dementieva in straight sets. The Serena Williams v. Jie Zheng match is currently in progress. Serena already took the first set and they are 5-all in the second. I don't see how Serena could possibly lose, but impossible is nothing when it comes to Zheng.

On the Gentlemen's side, there is still a quarterfinal being played. A grueling five-setter that's going to leave the winner absolutely exhausted for the semifinal against Rafael Nadal. Like I've stated before the finals are going to be Williams/Williams in the Ladies' side and Federer/Nadal in the Gentlemen's.

2008 ESPYs

So the nominees for the 2008 ESPYs were announced yesterday and I must say I'm a bit surprised at some of the nominees, but I understand why the people at ESPN chose those athletes. Here are some of the big time categories and my picks to win said categories.

Best Male Athlete
  • Tiger Woods (golf)
  • Tom Brady (NFL)
  • Kobe Bryant (NBA)
  • Alex Rodriguez (MLB)
Who I want to win: Tom Brady because he broke the record for the most touchdowns thrown in a season. I mean, to throw 50 touchdowns in a season in today's NFL is a huge accomplishment. Who do I think is going to win? Tiger Woods because everyone is like in love with him now after his win at the US Open.
Best Female Athlete
  • Lorena Ochoa (golf)
  • Danica Patrick (Indy car racing)
  • Candace Parker (NCAA, WNBA)
  • Lindsey Vonn (skiier)
Who I want to win: It's a toss-up between Danica Patrick and Candace Parker. They both had emotional runs to get to their respective championships. Danica won a race in a sport dominated by males, granted, the race wasn't won in the US, but I don't think it should matter. Candace, on the other hand, led her Lady Vols to the national championship after suffering an injury to her shoulder. Then, Parker was the number one overall pick in the WNBA draft to the LA Sparks. Who do I think is going to win? It's a toss-up between Danica Patrick and Candace Parker.
Best Team
  • NY Giants (Super Bowl Champions)
  • Boston Red Sox (World Series Champions)
  • Boston Celtics (NBA Champions)
  • Kansas Jayhawks (Men's NCAA Basketball Champions)
  • Tennessee Lady Volunteers (Women's NCAA Basketball Champions)
  • Detroit Red Wings (NHL Champions)
Who I want to win: The Boston Red Sox because they're my favorite sports team regardless of my loyalties to other teams. They came back from being down 3-1 to the Cleveland Indians in the ALCS and they swept the Colorado Rockies to win the World Series. Who do I think is going to win? Unfortunately, the NY Giants because they pulled off the upset over the New England Patriots.
Best Breakthrough Athlete
  • Stephen Curry (NCAA)
  • Adrian Peterson (NFL)
  • Kyle Busch (NASCAR)
  • Ana Ivanovic (Tennis)
Who I want to win: Ana Ivanovic of course. I think she has more potential to be the best at her sport than any of these males at their respective sports. She is currently number one in the world and I think that has to count for something with the voters. Also, I think since it's going to be mainly males voting, I think it's going to help her a little bit. Who do I think is going to win? Adrian Peterson because he had an amazing season for the Vikings.
The following are my picks of who I WANT to win not who I think is going to win

Best Championship Performance
- Josh Beckett in MLB Playoffs
Best Record-Breaking Performance
- Brett Favre
Biggest Upset - Appalachian State over Michigan
Best Moment - Jon Lester's no-hitter
Best Game
- NBA Finals Game 4 Celtics vs. Lakers
Best Play - Trinity's 15 lateral play
Best Sports Movie - Resurrecting The Champ
Best Coach/Manager - Terry Francona/Doc Rivers
Best Finish - Spurs over the Suns
Best MLB Player - Josh Beckett
Best NBA Player - Chis Paul/Kevin Garnett
Best NFL Player - Brett Favre
Best NHL Player - Alexander Ovechkin
Best MLS Player - David Beckham
Best WNBA Player - Diana Taurasi
Best Male College Athlete - Tim Tebow (Florida)
Best Female College Athlete - Angela Tincher (Virginia Tech)
Best Male Tennis Player - Roger Federer
Best Female Tennis Player - Ana Ivanovic
Best Driver - Jimmie Johnson
Best Fighter - Floyd Mayweather
Best Bowler - Norm Duke
HUMMER Like Nothing Else - Manny Ramirez

I really don't feel like picking the other categories because I just don't watch all those other sports. I already voted at espys.tv for all categories but I just don't want to type anymore. I'm lazy like that.

California, Here We Come

So I know I'm gonna sound like a fag, but I've gotta admit one of my favorite TV shows ever is The O.C. even though it was canceled last year. I own all the DVDs and when I'm bored I'll usually pop in a DVD and go back and watch the awesomeness that is Ryan Atwood and Marissa Cooper.

I always felt like a weird connection to the show because it premiered about a month or so before I started high school and it was canceled during my senior year so I'll always remember doing my homework and whatnot during high school and watching The O.C. on Wednesday nights.
I also kinda had a crush on Ben McKenzie who played Ryan Atwood. Actually, I guess I had a crush on Ryan Atwood because he was the one that was the brooding bad-boy and that's just plain sexy.
I still don't understand why in the world they would kill off Mischa Barton's character of Marissa Cooper during the season 3 finale. I cried like a little bitch when Marissa died. Josh Schwartz, you ruined my life! It's just unbelievable that they then would pair up Ryan with Taylor Townsend (Autumn Reeser). I mean like WTF! Although after watching the episodes "The Sleeping Beauty", "The Summer Bummer", and "The Chrismukk-huh?" Autumn's character grows on you quite a bit. She actually has become my favorite character during season 4.
Did I mention how hot the Ryan/Taylor kisses were? OMG! Wow!

Oh yeah ... Summer and Seth got married. Yay!

Anywho ... that's what I've been doing.

Oh, and who would've guessed that Jie Zheng would make it to the semifinals at Wimbledon. I still think it's going to be a Williams/Williams final. I think Venus is going to win. Whatever.
